Tomorrow is opening night - Kirsten Greenidge, our dear playwright, is making her world premiere with her fantastic new play "Bossa Nova" at Yale Rep. This has been such a rewarding process on so many levels; working with enthusiastic, creative and curious professionals, deepening a role that presents formidable challenge and exciting discoveries, and opening myself to the ceaseless wonders of an automated stage. The learning curve during this process has been steep; the amount of realizations I've had in my character work have been comparable to, if not surpassed by, the realizations I've had about myself as a performer.
The play is BEAUTIFUL. The people involved are BEAUTIFUL. Do come see it.
I'm coming to see you in this on Friday. I'm a fan of Kirsten's work and am really looking forward to it. It's a wonderful thing to be aware of the changes you go through during a production. It's beautiful to realize things as your character and as yourself. Congratulations on this experience!
