handwritten
I have succumbed to the fact that I am crafty. I like to make things, draw things and write things in loopy cursives and meandering lines. I enjoy wrapping presents, and designing gift tags. I find that leaving one side of a card blank is sad, so I fill it in with exploding illustrations of flowers, so that the note I've written on the other side has a .... friend? It's strange isn't it, when something you thought was simply saving you money on hallmark cards, turns out to be something that you truly love. Paperfinger, Bryn Chernoff's brooklyn based calligraphy and design shop, inspires the intimate, whimsical and organic relationship I look for when I'm giving a gift. Here's an example of some brilliant menus she designed for a dinner soiree by Karen Mordechai of Sunday Suppers. These images make me swoon and deeply wish that I had been invited.
