help

Longing to make an impact.  Longing to bridge the gap between what I do and wanting to serve the world community in a meaningful way.  Longing to be courageous.

Because ultimately, time is short.  My heart has been with Japan this week.  I cannot imagine such loss; all semblance of life being sucked out in an undertow, replaced by chaos.  How does one recover? Displacement, isolation, and fear are just a few of the remnants left behind by such destruction, and yet, it seems that often in the face of that destruction emerge a resilient love, hope and support.  May all three find those left to face survival and recovery in the months ahead.

In my little corner of the world, The Long Wharf Theater is offering an opportunity for those patrons who attend Agnes Under the Big Top to donate to IRIS - Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services; a program responsible for resettling approximately 200 refugees each year while providing services in health care, food provision, interpreters/translation, and employment.  I intend to either volunteer my time or donate with them before I leave New Haven.  Additionally, here's a link to UNICEF where money is being raised to provide emergency relief to children affected by Japan's disaster.

Love, peace and calm to you, wherever you are.
