Billyburg's Grand St. has a delight on every corner.
I found this one; filled to the brim with french milled textiles, overstuffed muslin chairs, etched glass, and wooden, rough-hewn work tables.
Outside was a garden oasis with grey paving stones, a bistro table, and the sound of water trickling into a pool somewhere against the ivy covered walls.
Moon River Chattel Mercantile will be a small heaven on earth for those of you who revel in salvaged farmhouse antiques, the tactile joys of handcrafted bowls, and pretty filament bulbs.
After my visit, I spent a good half an hour fantasizing about my imaginary brooklyn loft and how the gorgeous handmade pillows would look against my very imaginary wing back chair.
