1.04.2010

12:54 a.m. and it's been a day. A good one on all accounts. I said goodbye to 'Evergreen', and celebrated the work of a beautiful cast, punctuated with a pizza party and delightful chocolate treats at The Lincoln Center Atrium. I really dislike saying goodbye to shows. There's an attachment that grows to a group of people, a character, a story...a paycheck (!) -- that is extremely difficult to part with. It was a joy to end 2009 and begin 2010 working on such a beautiful project. Thank You.

This evening, I waged battle against the winter elements and managed to navigate myself into Brooklyn. I don't mean to brag, but for a sworn manhattanite to brave the downtown F after dark and make it to her destination without making any distress calls, is a feat in my book. I was met by warm friends and the restorative effects of a "hot port". Akin to a toddy, this neat little drink is something I plan on drinking again... in my own home... in Manhattan.

De-lic-ious.

To continue within the theme of new discoveries: I was walking back to the theater from a dinner break with a cast mate of mine, eager to get warm. I looked behind me and he was meandering/jumping/skipping off the walls of a small courtyard. When I asked him what he was doing...he replied " Frankie, I'm extreme walking." Apparently in 1995, walking became an extreme sport? I'm thrilled at my new pedestrian prospects.
